About Us Writers Central was founded in 2004 as a result of Director and Principal Suzanne Harrison's own passion for stories, myth and writing. After serving her creative writing apprenticeship teaching at the popular Writer's Studio in Sydney, she left to develop her own courses, expanding on, and adding to, the ideas she picked up there.
While sitting on her couch in October 2006, Suzanne had a “bolt out of the blue” to turn all her material into online courses, thus giving writers from all over the world the chance to share the insights and revolutionary techniques that Suzanne had uncovered and developed. In October 2007, Writers Central online was launched.
Suzanne believes three things:
1. Everyone can write, If you can think and speak, you can write.
2. Writers are people that write.
3. Great stories sell.
Translated: Write consistently, learn to tell a good story, and you will have the market pounding on your door.
Suzanne lives, works and writes from her home in the divine Southern Highlands of NSW. She shares her home with her two beloved Bernese Mountain Dogs Ziggy and Zali, and a grand old Chinchilla cat, Aspen. When she is not pounding away on the keyboard of her cherished Macintosh Powerbook G4, she can be found sitting in the stands of Aussie Stadium cheering on her beloved Roosters, reading a book on the window seat in Gloria Jeans at Bowral or walking her dogs in her neighbourhood.

Writers Central courses are extremely easy to take. Course materials are presented in both PDF and MP3 format, so you can take your writing tutor with you wherever you can take your iPod or MP3 player. Courses are divided into a series of lessons, with informative instruction and a multitude of exercises to stimulate your imagination and get you writing. You then post your exercises and homework in the exclusive Writers Central Forum , where you receive feedback from your online writing coach, as well as from others in your class. This simulates the in class environment without the necessity of turning up at the same time every week.
Our courses are designed to be taken in sequence, beginning with Course 1 - Free Your Imagination. If you are ready to write your novel or screenplay, you can then go straight to Course 4 - Master Storytelling, however it's advisable to take Course 2 - Story Techniques if you are unfamiliar with storytelling structure, the use of meaningful conflict, character development and scene structure.

About our Forums The Forums are set up to facilitate the powerful feedback process. Whenever you complete a writing or homework exercise, brainstorm a story plan or write a scene you post your work in the dedicated classroom, inside the Writers Forum, where your online writing coach and others in your class will give you feedback. While you are there, I encourage you to give feedback to at least two others. Feedback is the breakfast of champions, and whatever you give will come back to you one hundredfold.
The Forums are also a portal to all your other Writers Central membership benefits. Here you will download your courses, enter the latest competitions, browse the Professional Services area, read author interviews, book and movie reviews, check out the latest columns and writing tips and chat with other Writers Central members. You can even post a problem you're having with your writing, and receive advice from members and coaches.

About our Feedback The Writers Central feedback process will enrich your writing experience like nothing else. Once you complete your writing exercises or homework and post them in the forum classroom, you will receive positive and specific feedback from both your online writing coach as well as others doing the same course.
We only have two rules regarding feedback in the Writers Forums:
1) Feedback must be positive,
2) Feedback must be specific.
Honing in on the fact that what we focus on expands, the specific and positive support and encouragement of other writers will inspire you to continue writing and improving at a rate that you cannot imagine until you experience it. Our feedback system will nourish your writing like nothing else you have ever experienced.
The only request we make is that every time you post your own work, please read two other pieces of writing and give feedback. Remember, better readers make better writers and when you give positive support and encouragement to others, it will come back to you a hundrefold.
